The AIFL Supports the People of Oklahoma

The AIFL is deeply saddened by the loss of life and devastation caused by yesterday's tornado in Oklahoma.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Oklahoma during this difficult time.

Since 2008, AIFL has established strong ties with the state of Oklahoma through our Youth Ambassador Student Exchange Program. Thirty students from Bartlesville, Bethany, Edmond, Yukon, Tulsa, and Oklahoma City have participated in our YASE program.

We would like to encourage you to help support those affected by the tornado. Please click to donate to: American Red Cross

Eureka College president to visit Israel

Eureka College’s President David Arnold is among about eight U.S. college presidents chosen to travel to Israel next week.

“It is an honor,” said Arnold, who hopes to find an Israeli sister college to partner with Eureka for cultural and student and teacher exchanges.

The tour is led by the America-Israel Friendship League in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel.

Arnold was selected by the Consulate General of Israel in the Midwest, located in Chicago, and George Washington University President Emeritus Stephen Trachtenberg, who will lead the tour.

Arnold believes he was chosen in part to represent the region and a small liberal arts college. Eureka has about 800 students; its graduates include 42 college presidents, seven governors and congressmen, and the 40th president of the United States.

The itinerary includes historical, cultural and religious sites and social, cultural and economic aspects of the country. Visits include Ohalo College and Tel Aviv University, and with high-level national and municipal education leaders.

The school established a cooperative agreement last year with Lingnan University in Hong Kong.
